Budget Queen

The average woman spends around $150 to $4oo dollars per month on clothing.
If we had to imagine that we have $300 dollars to spend and we want to make a visible impact and change to our image, how would you go about your shopping trip? Which items will you purchase first? Let us put our budget friendly ideas to the test: Meet Sarah, Sarah is a 30-year-old woman, she owns her own small business, she is a florist and garden enthusiast. She is expanding her business to a national online platform and are now having to be in meetings for work purposes. Sarah is giving me $400 to spend on a new look development plan for her.
How would I spend Sarah’s money, to coach and train her successfully for future purchases? I will start with a collection for Sarah that will fit the changes that are happening in her life. I will price the collections items individually and get a round figure for the entire cost of outfit. Now that I have averaged the entire outfit, I can budget and plan for how many collections I can shop for, for the $400 dollars. I will create a mood board or a shopping board with similar items that I found online, to give my client a great starting point. Remember to use a cohesive and strong colour palette as guidance. Then I will add accessory items that is versatile to use for all the collections. If you are shopping for four collections for instance, choose your shoes, belt, handbag, and jewellery to match all four collections. I will finalise the budget by finding unique and different pieces and I will call the collection something fun for Sarah to feel special. It can be something like Sarah’s floral explosion, or Sarah’s sassy summer collection. Being creative with a collection can really help you to stick to a budget so that you know you can shop for the entire collection. (Read my post on wardrobe planning and how to build a style collection) Always do some research for your budget. Your summary will include what you are currently wearing and what items are in the wardrobe. You will then find pieces that fits into your dressing personality and personal style category.
