Moodboards and how to build a fashion inspiration board
When I consult with a client, I use moodboards to communicate for me, with pictures and ideas that I envision for the client. As per this example, you can see that the colours that the client is choosing for every day wear, is drowning her natural colours and skin tone.
You want to choose colours that brings out the best of all your feautres, this includes your hair colour, your skin colour and the colour of your eyes. That is why I chose burnt oranges and more natural colours.
I suggest that when you are considering to update your look and your wardrobe that you build a moodboard for yourself first. Take a photograph of yourself, and add it to your moodboard, now add colours and ideas to your board. You will immediately see if these colours are complimenting your natural colouring or drowning the colours out.
Now with the second mood board that I've created for the client, I chose a softer colour palette, and something more romantic. This will compliment her grey hair beautifully, and it will soften her over all look. The trick to a successful board planning, is to also look at ideas that are current and stylish.
