The "I have nothing to wear dilemma"
The secret to the “I have nothing to wear dilemma”
If there is one thing I know and understand then it's the dilemmas women face when it comes to basic style choices.
Look, I firmly believe that your wardrobe and shopping choices sets the tone for your life and your path to success, it is then crucial for us to dress for our potential rather than dressing for the current seasonal trends. We expect to know how to dress by default, but it takes time and a lot of mistakes to get to a place where your Image truly works in your favour. The, I have nothing to wear dilemma is very real and affects us all daily. How many times have you stood in front of a fully stocked wardrobe yelling out the words, I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR?
Let’s go back in time and revisit our styling choices. Do you remember what your wardrobe looked like ten or twenty years ago? What did you wear? What colors were you attracted to? Think about your likes and dislikes. How did trends and fashion influence your wardrobe choices? How many of those choices still remains in your life today? The key to eliminating the nothing to wear situation is to know yourself very well and what you are currently drawn to.
Here are some easy ways to eliminate your what to wear dilemma.
1. Finding your overall Style Identity first and knowing what your personal style is. Are you drawn to a minimalist way of dressing or are you attracted to more dramatic pieces? Analyze your wardrobe carefully and write down your own style identification. As an example, you can be a feminine dressing type with a romantic flare or you can be a creative dressing type with a vintage flash.
2. Color Identification. Which colors in your current wardrobe are best suited for your skin tone and which colors can you add to align with the color trends? Choosing your wardrobe color palette should always have an emotional connection.
3. Look at Fabrics and textures that you are drawn to and find new ways of combining fabrics and textures. The fabric trends for 2022 is

You will learn a great deal about yourself after you have planned this way. You will now know what your Personal style is and what colors you identify with. You will know if you are dressing according to your lifestyle and body type and which fabrics you are drawn to the most. You will make a shopping list, of items that are lacking and you will know what core staples you rely on. For example: Do you only wear denims and t-shirts or you don’t have any dresses in the wardrobe. You will create outfit inspirations, and an “ideal” look that you would like to follow. You will know how out dated you are and what trends you would like to explore. Now you will also know where you shop the most and why?
Purging your wardrobe on a regular basis will help you to find the garments that you are most attracted to and most comfortable in. I advise my clients to purge at least every six months. The best tip to purging the wardrobe, I find, is to talk to your wardrobe. Now before you think that I have lost my mind, here are the best way to get rid of the clothes and accessories you really don’t need any more and the questions you need to ask.
Does the clothing item still fit? And does it fit properly?
Can it be altered or fixed so that it looks new again?
Have I worn it in the last year?
Do I feel good in it?
Can I use it to match at least two or three other items in my wardrobe?
It’s not always easy letting go of good clothes and items, but if you never wear it, it just takes up space and are cluttering the wardrobe. Your wardrobe should represent your current style and lifestyle.

Re-designing the wardrobe will also do wonders. You don’t always have to separate the seasons. Your winter wardrobe can be part of your summers wardrobe, but keeping the heavy winters items separate will clear up a lot of space and make your life a lot easier. Try to make most of the items visible so that you know what you have to your exposal. When I plan a wardrobe for a client, I always group color schemes and items that can be matched together so that it’s easier to get dressed in the morning.
